On November 30, 2011, I officially leaped into the calling placed on my life as a child. I ran from it for so many years trying to make my life what I wanted it to be. If you know me, I always stated that "ministry" was something that I would do in my spare time. My goal was for my husband and I to own our own business, have 2.5 children (the .5 would be the dog) and we would have the house with the white picket fence. I would "volunteer" at church and give service to my various committees. After growing up a "PK" (preachers kid) and knowing what life in ministry truly is, being in ministry was not first on my list. But this was not aligned with the purpose God had for my life. It took me over 20 years to finally surrender to it. And this was after suddenly losing my father, one of the most influential and significant people in my life. After His death in 2008 I was confronted with my own mortality and destiny. On November 11, 2011 I hosted "Putting on a New You. A time to Reflect, Renew, Redo" Retreat at Chateau Elan. That Retreat changed the trajectory of my life. Afterwards I knew that I was called to a purpose greater than myself and that it was time to step into it. I informed those closest to me at work that 2012 I would not be working there. Being a vessel that God move through to bring restoration, renewal and transformation changed me. Two weeks after the Retreat I wrote these thoughts in The Sanctuary on Facebook. November 30, 2011 After writing these words I did much praying, contemplating and a whole lot of talking with my husband. And we came to a conclusion and I shared the following with Facebook: December 11, 2011 And I did exactly that. On December 13, 2011 I resigned from my position as a Revenue Agent. I resigned from this position knowing that I would take a decrease in pay and benefits. My husband supported the decision however he and I were scared. I do not have to go into how this decision in the natural did not look like very wise. However, I felt in my spirit that this was necessary to do what was I purposed to do. You see that position although it appeared to be prestigious and lucrative, was extremely stressful and emotionally draining. And the salary was not commensurate to the duties that I was performing. But it was a good, stable, government job. Who wouldn't want this in this economy? In the natural I appeared to be very foolish to be leaving this job to work from home, making less. But when you are walking in “Faith”, you don’t believe in the natural you believe in the spiritual and the spiritual is the unseen. I took that LEAP OF FAITH not knowing what or who was there to catch me. All I knew was that I was "purpose motivated". I was tired of living the mundane and I was ready to live on purpose. Shortly thereafter, I began to have prayer sessions in my home with 2 other women that I knew from the church I had attended in my home in January 20, 2012. 6 years ago, I surrendered totally to the mantle placed on my life. I begin to deliberately die to myself, my wants and desires and I focused in on what God wanted for me. When I took that leap of faith I had no idea what was waiting for me at the bottom. All I knew was that I had to trust in the purpose and plan that God has for my life. So, if he told me to LEAP in with FAITH I had to trust that He would not let me fall. Not going to front I was scared as to what was at the bottom but I had to remember that my Father did not give me a spirit of fear. I took a giant leap and without fail; my strong, powerful all-knowing Father was there to catch me. And He caught me each time I leaped to experience a new level. Even when the divide between the known and unknown grew wider, He continues to catch me. This journey has gotten better and better, in addition to sweeter and sweeter. True to scripture, as I have sought His Kingdom He has given me the desires of my heart. I have always had a desire to write and to be a published author as I have been an avid reader from the time I was able to read; I love books. I also have used writing to bring forth vision, healing, and restoration to my life and to be able to write, influence others to a place of healing from my writings brings me fulfillment. Hence the reason why the release of the Sharing Our Prayers Anthology is the fulfillment of a vision. But even with this, I had to take a leap of faith. And in my Father’s providential way, He was there to catch me to take me to a new level. I am so honored and humbled to be able to collaborative of a piece of work that speaks directly to who I am as a person. I have experience such flood of emotion as I have watch my Father orchestrate and position me from a very unfulfilled unhappy state to a state of bliss. That only happened once I took the leap of faith which catapulted me to a super superlative life! Selah. If this thought has been profitable to you, please share with your friends and family. Have you ever been told that you would never be "nothing"? That nothing would ever come out of your life. That not one good thing will come from all that you have been through? That because your parents were nothing, that you will never amount to anything? Have you had “them” say to you that your dreams were crazy? Have you ever had someone purposely abandon you to sabotage you? Intentionally talk against you with words that were filled with hopes that you bomb. They secretly pray that you never find joy nor happiness in life, that your marriage fails, your children never accomplish their potential, that you are never promoted to that new position or start that new business or ministry. I have! I have had family and deepest confidants say that I would never be anything. I have had those that I have loved, counseled and fellowship with intentionally seek to destroy all that I have worked and sacrificed for right in my face. I have experienced being mistreated simply because I am living out a life that they may desire. And all of this cut deep and wounded me. I have personally witnessed in recent years that people are becoming more disingenuous and calculating and this is not just in the world, but the church has become a breeding ground for these spirits. And these spirits have discouraged and caused many to not walk in faith. To give up on dreams and to lose hope for the future. But I am so glad that I knew deep in the recess of my soul, when those words from “them,” were spewed to wound, and plans were set into motion to prevent me from showing up for my assignment my Intelligent Designer gave me the strength to show up despite what “they” have said or done. The constant push of negativity from “them” can make you want to call it quits and give up. Sadly, “them” will always exists to put you down and will be around to tear down your dreams, goals and ideas. Unfortunately, if you remove one from your life, another one will most likely show up ready to take their place and spring into action. What I realized is that responding with negativity is not the weapon designed to defeat the warfare of “them.” The weapons designed to prosper against them is showing them the love, grace and mercy of God, to not let what they have said and done affect you so much and to not allow them to cause you to not show up. Sometimes it’s easy to let what they say stop your momentum. “Them” will always exist to hinder your progress and to keep you from achieving your visions, goals and ideas. No matter what “they” say, you must realize that you can’t let them dictate your future nor can you let them get you off track. Don’t you dare allow them to get you to a place of defeat and discouragement that it throws you completely off course. Make a decision to turn a deaf ear to what they say and move forward towards your dreams and goals. I refuse to allow “them” make me believe anything less than what I know my Intelligent Designer has planned for my life. I KEEP IT MOVING because I have future filled with hope and an expectant end that I am pursuing. Christ Himself had His share of people who intentionally criticized, planned and plotted against Him and He did not only ignore “them” but continued with His assignment. He prayed for them and kept it moving and He orders us to do the same; pray for those who persecute you. (Matthew 10:13) The curses spoken against others can come back to you, but so can the blessings. He states that when you offer peace and the other person does not receive it, peace will still come back to you, so there is no losing on your part. (Luke 10:6) The only way that you can lose is if you don’t go on and SHOW UP! If this thought has been profitable to you, please share with your friends and family. I’m often asked, "You don't want children?" What are you waiting on? I am sure people wonder how I have remained patient with God’s plan for my life when I have been married 13 years and I am 43 years old without children. Yes, I do want to feel the joys of motherhood. I’ve talked so much about it, it’s no secret— that I have had major challenges in experiencing motherhood. And most people would have given up the hope of ever experiencing it if they had experienced what I have gone through in the past 13 years. Real talk - I have wanted to give up! There have been many moments when I’ve been tired of waiting. I have been frustrated at dealing with the constant pain and wanted to give up in defeat. In 2017 I thought that my chances were gone and was on the verge of throwing up my hands. But as reflect on all that has transpired in my personal world over the last 12 months, it is only by God's grace that we are still standing with our heads lifted to the heavens, filled with praise and a positive perspective on what has transpired. I am thankful for my Father’s grace in these 13 years. I am thankful that when life and people looked at us and say, "There is no way," God said, "I AM THE WAY!" I am thankful that in our sufferings, we rejoiced, "Knowing that our suffering produced perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope did not put us to shame.… "(Romans 5:3-6). I give praise because we may have been grieved by the various trials of 2017, which tested the genuineness of our faith, but we now give glory and honor at the revelation that the suffering was just for a season. And we can rejoice knowing that in little while we will be rewarded with our BLESSING! (1 Peter 1:6-7) I am grateful that what was meant for evil against us, my Father used it for good and that those heard how we overcame that evil, through the favor of God, were saved (Genesis 50:20). I am appreciative that through the tribulation of the illness that was designed to bring suffering and a great loss we maintained our dignity. We were not ashamed because we believed and are yet convinced that God will deliver the BLESSING He promised us. (2 Timothy 1:12) I am overjoyed that the tests were turned into a testimony and every bit of anguish, sadness and pain in that last season we endured with patience, prayer, and praise. We can stand today in this season proclaiming that every situation we arose more than conquerors. What have you been praying and asking God to manifest in your life? A spouse? A new career? Change in a relationship? Change in your financial situation? Don't give up or lose hope because it seems as though you are in this season for too long. "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us." (Romans 8:18) So, as we go into the first month of 2018, we can say we have had our share of troubles but we can proclaim that even though it may look like we lost a season, we can see by grace He is rewarding us with NEW LIFE! We have officially entered into our annual new year sacrificial 21 Day Daniel Fast period. Each year I am led to call this fast to simply put the people in The Sanctuary in touch with God and His life-changing power.
I know the importance of fasting and we make every effort to fast at least twice a year. I have used the fasting tool throughout my life and each time it was beneficial and was profitable for my natural and physical self. I fasted before I was married to prepare myself as Esther for my King. I fasted before major surgeries to break infirmities and I have fasted to gain revelation on how to bring healing to my body. The year 2016 brought sickness that I thought would take our dreams and desires for a family. I prayed and asked for revelation on how to bring healing to my body spiritually and physically. Our Heavenly Father revealed to us that 2017 would be the year that He would provide us with the #Swords to gain #TotalVictory. We threw our V's up and grab the first of the swords which was the Daniel Fast. We took the sword and for 21 Days we feasted on fruits and veggies and did extensive soul work. We had goals and His strategy and it all worked for our good and His GLORY. I am now in better health physically, mentally and spiritually than I have EVER been in my life. You see having the power of God that can only be found in fasting and prayer can breakthrough and penetrate the most fortified wall and stronghold. You see you don't program the power of God into something, you pray the power of God into it. Fasting gives you more time for prayer. You can use the time you'd normally spend eating as time in prayer for what God wants to do among us during this time. In the Bible, fasting is always connected with prayer. "While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.' So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off." Acts 13:2-3 (NIV) Fasting demonstrates the depth of your desire when praying for something. It shows you that you are serious enough about your prayer request to pay a personal price. God honors deep desire and praying in faith. Fasting releases God's supernatural power. It is a tool we can use when there is opposition to God's Will. The enemy would like nothing better than to cause division, discouragement, defeat, depression, and doubt among us. As Jesus said to the disciples who were having trouble taking authority of a demonic spirit, "But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Prayer and fasting has always been used by God to deal a decisive blow to the enemy! "God says, "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?" Isaiah 58:6 (NIV) Prayer and fasting are tools that God has given us to use on all the disrepair in our lives, in our churches, in our communities, and in our country. Do you feel dry, spiritually? In need of renewal? Feeling powerless against the world and the enemy? In need of a breakthrough? FAST and PRAY. "To be seated in heavenly Places, Just like Heaven, Just like Heaven on Earth! To be walking in His favor and grace is Just like Heaven, Just like Heaven on Earth! Something’s moving, Something changing, See His glory feels like Heaven on Earth." When I heard these lyrics from Micah Stampley's amazing worship song "Heaven On Earth" it surely made my soul leap. Why? Because as I taught over the weekend that I have felt something shift in my spirit over the last few months of 2017. I have felt an anticipation that I haven't felt in quite sometime, and I know that it's the anticipation of what is to come with the transition of the seasons and times. We have entered a year that will carry with it regeneration, resurrection and breakthrough power that will carry with it the Lord’s strength and power. It will be an epic year that He will accomplish things that we are not able to do in our own strength. 2017 we declared was the year of "Victory," and we saw His great light and received revelation that brought victory. And He will continue to make good on His promises concerning many matters that began last year. We will be seated in Heavenly Places. We will walk in unprecedented favor and grace. Just like heaven on earth. The Lord will also seal, solidify and secure what He began. It is especially true to those who have been diligent and faithful towards Him. Many of us have toiled in our spirit about relationships, finances, careers, family, the state of the world. Many of us are bogged down with the frustration, pain and the hurt of disappointments and rejections. But we have now entered into a time of revival where the outpouring of His Spirit will cleanse and begin to move us into new places and revelatory truth that we have not been before. Our sight, our ability to see into the realm of the spirit will be enhanced so that our spiritual eyes will see way beyond what is being presented to our minds, and as a result our understanding becomes enlightened by the Spirit of God working in us. We are entering a Divine Year where we will break through walls and veils to see new things! Worship warriors liken to David will disclose secrets and mysteries because they have broken through the wall to understand God's heart. I want to encourage all of you reading this that our Father is ready and willing to bring His Word to pass thru your life. However, it is through our co-operation and co-laboring with Him that the supernatural is manifested in the natural. We are His vessels and we are the gateways through which His glory will be displayed on the earth. This is done through intimacy, engaging the realm of heaven, and declaring what you see and hear that brings heaven to earth, then walking in an obedient faith! Press into Him more than you ever have before. Ask Him for a release of divine hunger that will drive you deeper into Him. We have been given a mandate of the highest importance to carry the Kingdom of God with us everywhere we go and to release this Kingdom through everything we do. We are called by Christ to bring heaven to earth. Everything that is happening in heaven should be happening on earth. How much of heaven will God manifest on earth thru you? You have bee called to be the "gateways" of heaven and manifest the Kingdom realm to everyone around us. Many strive in the natural to see the promises of God brought to pass but it's only as we access heavenly realms and enter into divine friendship with God that promises are fulfilled. When this happens I know that it will be as our Micah Stampley song says so profoundly: "There will be lightning and thunder, Miracles and wonder, Sound of many waters, Heaven on Earth!" "Father may every person that reads this have a heavenly visitation from you. Just one moment with you can shake the foundations of their lives. I pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation to be increased in greater measures so that your people might engage Your supernatural realms of heaven to experience You. Holy Spirit, I pray that you would reveal yourself to every person reading this and cause a boldness to be rest upon them so that they may be vessels who truly cause heaven to invade earth!" Is it possible that God is trying to speak to us and we’re pretending to listen? If you are like me, your mind is constantly analyzing, assessing, deciding, and working every moment of every day. Sometimes it’s hard for me to sit down and shut up – to be silent – yet I know I must, especially if I am to discern God’s will for this ministry and me. I have learned that shutting my mouth and sitting in silence is a virtue. It is in this silence that we hear to integrate what we hear our Father is saying into our being. He speaks to us in several different ways. Perhaps it is through a passage from Scripture. Perhaps it is through the voice of a loved one. Perhaps He speaks directly to your heart in prayer, giving you His peace. Perhaps it is via a whisper as you sit silently. But do we hear? It is with difficulty for me to hear when I always seem to have a lot to say to God. I fail many times at letting Him get a word in edgewise when I pray. I pour my heart out to Him in prayer, and I make an attempt to listen to my Father so that He can speak to my heart. But sometimes He doesn’t get much of a chance with me jabbering away. Many of us are petitioning God for so many things. We are repeatedly asking, as if He didn't hear us the first time. But have you ever considered that He heard you but you aren't listening? It is true that one of the keys to life and good relationships is effective communication. And for effective communication to occur, there must be effective listening. This is true not only in developing relationships with one another, but in our relationship with God as well. Listening to God is like listening to anyone-before you can hear Him; you must be ready to listen. Just as in a conversation, you cannot hear the other person if you are talking or if your mind is distracted. So it is with God. I know for many years, He was trying to speak to me. I ignored sometimes deliberately but many times unknowingly. I would not let my thoughts get below the surface level and I allowed the noise of the world to drown Him out. But eventually He got my attention and I began to listen and not just listen but willingly saying, "Yes" to what He told me. Now that I put myself in a position to hear, my life has a whole new meaning. Many times we miss out on hearing God’s voice because we don’t know how He speaks. But we know from scripture that His voice is that of a loving, kind and devoted Shepherd. Commit with me today to meditate to hear His voice. Sit down, shut up and take the time to listen because He desires that we hear His Voice not only today but always. I encourage you to put yourself in a listening attitude. Solomon urged, "Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God" (Eccl. 5:2). Instead of getting to your list of requests, sit still and ask the question that Samuel ask in 1 Samuel 3:1-10, "Speak Lord, for your servant is listening"…not “Listen Lord for your servant is speaking.” Then expect God to remind you of a Scripture passage or to put a thought in your mind. If you have already decided what you think God wants to say, you will close your heart to any other thoughts from Him, so allow Him to say anything He wants to you. Listening to the voice of God is active and participatory. Listening doesn’t always mean quietness, but attentiveness. In the midst of a powerful song, God may speak to you about something in your life. In the midst of a sermon, your mind may be drawn to something the Spirit is trying to speak to you. Go with it…Listening is not about the sermon or the song– but it is about an encounter that tunes us into the Spirit so that we can do what God has called us to be. When we seek to listen to God we gain clarity, a deeper relationship with our Father, direction, assurance, and guidance. We can gain all of these things by just listening. Are you ready to listen? For the past five years, I have been working faithfully to bring to fruition the vision that the Father has placed in my womb. In these past five years, I have experienced every kind of strategy of warfare to hinder the birth of this God-Vision. I have learned very quickly that the enemy will use thoughts and arguments but especially people (family, friend and foe) to distract us from our God assignment. In my dealings with others, I have realized those that are focused on the greater assignment as I am experienced this same level of spiritual warfare. And I think what most of us forget during these challenging times is that we are not powerless in these situations. We have a weapon that we seldom use but is sure to bring victory and that is "the sword of the spirit which is the word of God"( Ephesians 6:17) A sword is an unmistakable weapon of offense. No doubt that it can also be used as a tool for defense. This however is no ordinary sword. This sword is made of the Spirit and the Word. In spiritual warfare the battles are fought with Words. Not carnal words which I was used to using very well, as my words in anger have been known to cut deep and wound the flesh. The Words that I speak now are packed and backed up with the Spirit of God. And God's Word is truth, plain and simple. We can have perfect confidence in the fact that His Words are accurate, true and inerrant. When followed, they guide us without fail in the paths that we need to walk and will win the battles we need to win as they cannot return to us void. His Word must complete what they were sent to do. There is no enemy the Word of God, coupled with His Spirit, cannot defeat. And so, armed only with our sword, we step out to fight our enemies head-on. The struggle is real. It is immediate, and it is in front of us. Our future in the Kingdom is on the line, and we take up the battle so that we may hold fast to the future He has promised us. We fight knowing the end of the story and stand on one of the many powerful and sure promises in God's Word tell us: But he who endures to the end shall be saved. (Matthew 24:13) What a powerful and sure promise in God's Word, it tell us that if we remain dedicated, steadfast and unmovable to God and His Word, we will make it to the end. And we will be saved to bring to Glory to the Kingdom. I am a living witness to this statement and to the power of my Father's Words. Many have tried to slay me, but yet I trust Him cause when I use His choice weapon of warfare; it will not fail me. So take up your sword and fight with confidence for the God-Vision for your life - you are more than conqueror thru Him who loves YOU! We are about to transition into a new year of 2018 according to the Gregorian/Roman calendar in two months, however on our Father's calendar we have already transitioned into a New Year. God is admonishing us to line up our lives so that we would participate in the next cycle of the decade—appropriately called “The Decade of the Kingdom.” This means that there are new doors opening for believers to calibrate with the agenda of God for the coming year.
I often look at things from an additional perspective that includes not only the revelation of the Holy Spirit but the ways of God. So, if this new year has new open doors, then it is helpful to ask: "What are the requirements to go from one stage to the next?" We need to consider: "To go through an open door, do you have to close some old doors first?" As I spent time with the Lord and followed the direction of the Holy Spirit this year there has been times that I had to do somethings I had never done. I had to close some doors on relationships that were draining and lopsided, severe some deep seeded soul ties and die to desires and what I think I deserve to accomplish what God has purposed for me. I have had to come out of my tent of limitation and comfort to go through the door to realize the destiny God has for me. Many of us are kept from our destiny because we refuse to acknowledge the purpose for which we were created. Sometimes we want to be anything BUT what God has called us to be. Romans 9:20 says, “Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, ‘Why have you made me like this?’” But I am here to tell you the more quickly you embrace the obvious purposes of God for your life, the sooner you will see the promise. Be brave! Remember it is He, the Lord, Who will lead you out of the tent – if you are willing to honestly look. Doors will open this year as you are willing to walk through them. If we make the transition right, we will not recognize ourselves in the next decade, but God will. What has evaded you will come into your field of view summoning your involvement? What is "the thing" that may prevent you from walking through that open door? "The thing" can be described as the “thing (s)” you are currently doing that hinders you from cooperating with the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. That “thing” preoccupies you and diverts your attention away from God. This year, you will turn yet another year older and it's insane to think you can continue to do the same thing and get different results. If you want to live the life God predestined for you—the life of your dreams, allow Him to assist you in getting rid of "the thing in hand," so you can walk into this New Year with New Liberty and New Revelation as there is wide door of opportunity that is open for you! There is a new well that is waiting for you in your land. Go through your doors of opportunity and enter and occupy the land God has given you. We are in the time of Isaiah 22:22 where the Lord is releasing the authority to empower, impart, and equip a company of people with the keys of the Kingdom. These keys unlock the door of the Kingdom within His people that will enable them to rule with dominion under an opens heaven with the authority of Christ. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NLT) A Time for Everything Seasons come and go; they have a beginning and an end. We are finishing up summer, which is the time that what we planted is blossoming and we're going into fall, which is the time we harvest the fruit from our hard work. The farmer coordinates his activities by seasons because he knows it will produce the most fruit in it's season. Just like the seasons of the year, our faith has seasons. Do you know your seasons or what season you are in? One of the greatest tragedies for Believers is we do not recognize the season they are in. Spiritual seasons are not spiritual conditions nor a way of measuring Godliness. Jesus used the parable of the fig tree (Matt 24:29-31) to illustrate that we need to be aware of our spiritual surroundings and seasons to bear fruit in our due season. God ordains spiritual seasons to provide the greatest spiritual fruit bearing and the greatest spiritual growth. God's seasonal plan includes periods of growth and periods of rest. Recognizing the season you're in and responding appropriately to that season is the best way to insure continued spiritual growth and a life that bears Godly fruit. It's beneficial to learn to be comfortable with the season that God has ordained for you and allow God to move you from season to season. There are times of reflection, there are periods of vision, there are times when the when we will grieve and mourn and a time of revival. Me and my husband have greatly benefited from learning and knowing our spiritual times and the seasons - it has produced some good fruit. Now we know how to dress for the weather and be prepared for the storms and systems of depression. I encourage you to allow our Father to minister to you according to the current season not according to the last or next season. And as transition into the different seasons it is essential for us to be in touch with God. Doing this maximizes the spiritual growth and the production of spiritual fruit. We must be sensitive to the season we're in and develop our worship accordingly and remember that God's grace, favor, anointing, revelation Word are in each of our spiritual seasons. Many people will quote during time of loss that, "Time heals all wounds.” If I had a dollar for every time someone has said that to me over the past several years, I’d have racks of bills in front of me. In the past ten years, I’ve faced the loss of five members of my family. Today is the ninth year of my beloved Father's passing and through clouds of disbelief and sorrow, I watched my love ones pass on. With each loss, well-meaning people offered cliches such as the one mentioned above. Brace yourself, for I’m going to say something that may shock many of you. Time does not heal. The passage of days does not guarantee comfort or healing. The emotional wounds caused by loss will not dissipate on their own. But don’t despair. There is hope in the midst of mourning. If there is one thing I have learned during this season in my life it is this: God heals all wounds. According to Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Notice it says will, not might or could or ought or any other vague remark. God will comfort those of us whose hearts are breaking over the loss of a loved one. On those days when I feel the overwhelming crush of grief and despair, I can cling to this assurance from my Heavenly Father. Yes, loss is overwhelming, scary, and life changing. But God has said in His word, that He will soothe our pain-filled hearts. Open yourself to God. He loves you and promises to do what no amount of time can ever accomplish: the restoration of a wounded, grieving soul. If you are experiencing grief over the loss of someone in your life, pray as I did many days to our Heavenly Father to heal your grieving and aching heart.
